Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention
In my current role as Staff Counselor & Suicide Prevention Program Coordinator at Dartmouth College Counseling Center and past roles as a C.A.R.E. (Campus Assault Resources and Education) Advocate at the University of San Diego and as a Bilingual Clinical Counseling Intern at the San Diego City College Mental Health Counseling Center, I have acquired extensive experience with crisis intervention and suicide prevention. In my current role at Dartmouth College I am also part of a 24/7 on-call crisis rotation and support after-hour emergencies throughout several weeks during the year.

Some valuable skills I have been able to learn from my experience in this area include deescalation techniques, conducting thorough safety assessments, and safety planning. The ability to stay grounded and present has been key during crisis situations. In these cases, it is also specially significant to work well as a team for coordinated care.
